Priscale exists because good work kept losing money.
Talk to enough freelancers and small crews and you hear the same story. The work is good. The customers are happy. And at the end of the year, nobody can say whether they actually made money.

Why it didn’t exist
Nobody had built the tool for the ten minutes before you answer.
It usually comes down to pricing by gut feel — a number that felt right in the moment, with no account for what it really costs to keep the business running. The overhead, the hours that never get billed, the materials that ran over. Good work quietly loses money one quote at a time.
So we went looking for the fix, and there is no exact competitor to point at. Accounting suites explain the year once it has ended. Invoicing apps start after the price is already decided. Proposal software makes the document look good without ever asking whether the number inside it makes you money.
The insight behind Priscale is simple: a price is only defensible when you can trace it, from your overhead down to the last line item. So we built the whole path — burn rate, production cost, market value, and a spectrum of candidate prices — into one tool that hands you a number you can stand behind.

Who builds it
A small team, which is exactly the point.
Priscale is built by a small team that prices its own work, so there is nothing standing between you and the code. The person who reads your message is the person who can change the thing you wrote about.
Small also means quick. A rough edge you report on Monday is not waiting behind a quarterly planning cycle, and you hear back either way.

Priscale does not do everything, and we would rather say so in one sentence than let you find out in week three. Ask whether it handles something and you get a yes with a link, or a no with where that sits on the roadmap.
Some of the gaps are on purpose. Priscale is not an accounting suite and it is not an enterprise platform. It does one thing: help the people who do the work charge what the work actually costs.
